Shepherd of Sweden - Where Craft Meets Nature’s Most Versatile Material

After endless years of buying various forms of sheepskin for my family and myself I always go back to this brand as it aligns with my values, my needs and tastes. Authentic-hand crafted comfort is key in my life and hands down the best people in the world for calm, comfort and warmth are the Nordic people. The trust is instantly there and having bought these for many years, personally I had to include them in my repertoire of items for you.
I have broken down their “About Us” into a bite size chunks so you can really see the luxury of this brand.

Let’s see what I bought for you….
Firstly, one of my favourite items is the Jessica Slipper. I personally am very classic when it comes to my slipper choice and I find the Jessica is the perfect option for every occasion. Nobody wants an obnoxious slipper spoiling their outfit. The Jessica blends perfectly and has a kudos all of her own flattering everybody. Easy to slip on and off, fully sheepskin (read nearer the bottom about the sheepskin) Jessica is a family favourite and the one everyone is asking me for.
My next favourite purchase is the Sheepskin Hot Water Bottle cover. I love nothing more than laying on the sofa in front of the tv watching a show or just reading a book with the warmth of a hot water bottle. So this was a no brainer. I am sure you could pop a heat pad into the cover if you were not happy with a water bottle. I think it’s the aesthetic we all love, don’t you ? Imagine, spare room, guests coming, hot water bottle laid on their bed alongside a gorgeous hand soap and other gifts (all available btw). Who couldn’t resist this versatile luxury.
Lastly, I could not resist the blankets and a bags.
As I start to learn what you want me to get you and I can take requests and make orders for you based on your personal shopping preferences, I will grow the stock for Shepherd of Sweden. I want to make sure you are getting what you want from the brands I buy from.
But! I could not resist the Lennie blankets with the cute lamb knitted into the corner. I just feel when we see an image of a reindeer or lamb it just gives us that “Höstmys” (google it) feeling we all look for once Autumn starts and the earlier, darker evenings set in. I adore these wool blankets and so bought them in two colours as seen in the photos. Lennie as the blankets are called, maybe for Lennie the lamb, are created in what is known as a Jacquard fabric (named after Joseph Marie Jacquard as who invented a special loom in the 1800s) refers to both the type of fabric, the weaving technique and features complex patterns woven directly into the fabric so not printed or embroidered. I love this technique and so this is why I chose these blankets. And, yes they come at the pricier end of the blanket market but you are getting hand crafted, jacquard blankets made from 100% ethically sourced wool. I feel this is something you pay for and look after in your home. Plus I love knowing what I am buying has been crafted with care and consideration. Oh and it to will look incredible on that spare room bed (or ends of the sofa)
And lastly we have a gorgeous sheepskin bag and her name is Adele. I draw to these bags and have bought them as gifts for many years before having Moody Merchant. They have versatility and also the people I have bought them for, actually use them. I always when buying gifts try to not be a one gift person. So I tend not to say “Here have a furry bag” I like to create “feeling” and give my gifts reasons to be in that persons life. I bought the Adele for a friends daughter, she uses it for her gym trips. It holds her locker pass, hair ties and small items so they don’t free fall in with her gym gear, her handbag can stay at home.
This is how I build a gift for someone, I chose the main item like the Adele and then will think about what the person is going to use it for, so I pop in maybe a lip balm, body spray, hand sanitiser and scrunchies. So the gift becomes something fun and has purpose. You could buy some Percy pigs and a voucher for a younger girl and she can then use it to take herself shopping or you could just fill it with money, I am sure nobody would not want that surprise. Imagine a night out in the Autumn with your Sheepskin bag (it does has a fashion identity of its own). Who wouldn’t notice or comment on the Adele walking into the outdoor winter bar area or restaurant.
It’s inspiring people to use the items you buy them and so they don’t just collect dust in the cupboard.
So for now this is what I have for you and I will be growing this collection as we progress towards your wants and needs. These are my favourite pieces and I wanted to show things on this site that I would choose for myself and use myself plus something that I would gift to my friends.
One of the things I Love most about Shepherd of Sweden compared to other sheepskin brands is the authenticity of the brand.

They focus on quality, sustainability and functionality and I can see this in their stores online, there is something for everyone and I mean this, if you are young and want to follow a trend but want to focus on a certain style in fashion right now Shepherd of Sweden has it, for older customers who want easy to slip on boots or something to keep them extra warm Shepherd of Sweden has it. They have choice and some styles are definitely not for me, but, they are for someone and that is why they do well. For me they are customer lead and they care about everyone getting top of the game sheepskin and wool and ultimately longevity.

Shepherd of Sweden buy their raw materials directly. The craftsmen prepare and create products mainly by hand and the products are tirelessly tested and ethically produced. Shepherd has a HUGE emphasis on animal welfare and ethical sourcing.
