My Day At Wimbledon

My Day At Wimbledon

One of my favourite days in the year is Wimbledon and this year we hit the jackpot with the players we got to watch. A long very hot match with Novak Djokovic vs Roman Safiullin ended in a win for the champion and one of the eldest players in the tournament. It was super hot and I was grateful I wore a lightweight dress with my chill pill fan in hand. We then got to see the reigning champion Aryna Sabalenko get knocked out by a very composed Naomi Osaka and as the evening cooled so did the play with Jannek Sinner playing a lively Mochizuki. He took it in his cool stride and won in 3 sets.

Throughout the day one of the lovely parts of Wimbledon is wandering through the open courts, watching the lower seeds fighting for their places, hearing the crowds roaring and clapping, generally having a fun day at the tennis. Wimbledon has huge stands of their signature Strawberries and Cream stands, a fabulous Ralph Lauren coffee stand and shop, lots of stunning venues for private dining. It truly is a spectacular day.

Although the dress isn’t as elaborate as Ascot Races people do love to dress up especially in the hospitality suites. It is a day where everyone can be whoever they want to be, if you want to bring your own sandwiches and sit on Henman hill then great if you want to pay and go into one of the private suites then perfect. I wore a lovely long navy dress, it was cool to wear and I wanted to bring my new La Costantine bag with me in navy. (More on this to follow)

So if you are looking for a fun day out, you want excitement, good food, lots of Pimms and Strawberries then Wimbledon is def a day out for you.

If you can’t make it to Wimbledon this year I have a few solutions that will help you on the way. How to recreate Wimbledon at home.

I would buy the biggest strawberries you can imagine, the creamiest jersey cream, and on sale in Moody Merchant we have the most fun Strawberries and Cream Mugs, Bowls, Sugar Pots and Table runners, you can pop the tennis on the TV and sit back having your own home.
